I see in today's 8/21/10 Courier Post that Mission One is still looking for replacements for the laid off classroom aides, school bus aides and before/after school counselors. There standards must be pretty lofty (at 10.00 per hour which is what the terminated workers were offered). I can remember from the Board meeting on 8/18 that one of the laid off workers spoke (with ten years experience) that she applied for one of these positions but was turned away saying she did not have enough experience. I wonder how many of the 95 positions that were let go have been filled. But we never were told how many of those positions were going to be filled in the first place.
